Right in the heart of Queensland's Sunshine Coast lies "Magnificent Maroochy"
with it’s lush green hinterland, mountain ranges with sweeping views to the ocean and 25 kilometres of beautiful beaches. Maroochy’s main coastal strip is just over an hours drive North of Brisbane, and lies between the Maroochy and Mooloolah rivers. Spanning 1,153 square kilometres, Maroochy extends coastally North to Perigean and Westwards to include Kenilworth and Blackall Range. Bisected by the Bruce Highway, Maroochy has two distinctly contrasting areas – the seaside resort centres and the hinterland townships.
It’s ocean frontage includes the beach resorts of Mooloolaba, Alexandra Headland, Maroochydore, Pacific Paradise, Mudjimba, Marcoola. Yarawoomba, Coolum and South Perigean. Along the inner coastal fringe are the growing suburbs of Mountain Creek, Buderim, and Bli Bli, merging with the rural townships of Palmwoods, Woombye, Forest Glen, Eudlo, Nambour, North Arm, Yandina, Eumundi, Kenilworth, and the scenic mountain villages of Montville, Flaxton, Mapleton, Dulong and Kureelpa. Nambour is the administration centre, situated 13km from the coast and 100km on the freeway from Brisbane.
Maroochydore and Mooloolaba are perfect for fishing, riverside picnics, lazing on the beach or strolling around the specialist shops and boutiques.
